Carolina Miranda (she/her) is the founder and CEO of Cultivating Capital, a Certified B Corp. She has 10 years experience as a Sustainability Consultant, having starting Cultivating Capital after completing an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise. Her focus has been on helping companies align their business with their values by implementing best practices for social and environmental responsibility.
She has been actively involved in the B Corp community for more than 10 years, helping her last employer to get certified in 2009 and getting Cultivating Capital certified in 2012. She has served on the B Local Board in the Bay Area and am currently actively involved in the B Corp Women CEOs We the Change movement.
She has also been a Green Business Consultant for the Alameda County Green Business Program since 2010, working with hundreds of businesses throughout the county to help them improve their environmental practices and to get certified. She currently serves on the California Green Business Network’s Performance Standards Committee, assisting with the development of the sustainability standards that will be used by businesses throughout the state.
As a Sustainability Coach, she has led organizations through the development of Sustainability Action Plans, leading training sessions and providing coaching and mentoring services. Organizations that I’ve worked with include Pixar, Bayer, the City of Emeryville, the City of Berkeley, and Caltrans, the California Department of Transportation.
Her entire professional career has been intentionally designed to harness the power of business for good, because she does believe that we can make the world a better place. The B Corp movement has been and continues to be a main channel through which to do that.
